From the Walk Coordinators:
"Six years ago, Sean Freiburger and his mom organized the very first Walk for Children with Apraxia. Sean has led the march ever since in his fight to "Stop Apraxia." The Walk for Apraxia has spread to dozens of communities across the continent! Everything started right here in Pittsburgh, all because of Sean's idea and his mom's commitment to give back. Please join us as we raise awareness, offer support to kids and families, and unlock the voices of children with apraxia.
One step at a time, we can move forward together to help our children find their voices!
The Apraxia Walk is a 1.5 mile loop through the park, appropriate for children, adults, and families. In addition to the Walk, we will have children’s activities, special appearances, live music entertainment, many raffle items, and food and beverages will be provided! *If you would like to purchase raffle tickets, be sure to bring extra cash on Walk day!*
The walk is being held to benefit the Childhood Apraxia of Speech Association of North America (CASANA). All proceeds will benefit apraxia research and programs."
Please note: We would like to recognize each child with apraxia that has registered for the walk by displaying Apraxia Stars photo boards. If you are interested in having your child's photo, name, and age listed, please e-mail email@example.com
IMPORTANT UPDATE: Online registration is officially closed as of Friday September 20, 2013 at 7:30 AM. On site registration will be available on the walk day starting at 9:00 AM.
IMPORTANT - Did you register a child with apraxia of speech? If so, please e-mail the following: child's first and last name, child's age, and your Walk name to Justin LeWinter at firstname.lastname@example.org by September 11, 2013. We have a special gift to present to each child on the day of the Walk and want to make sure we have enough! Thanks!
