Simon is participating in the Walk for Apraxia again this year! It is on Saturday, September 28th in Guelph. It's a bit of a trek but Simon enjoyed meeting/seeing other kids with Apraxia last year. It is also a fundraiser for the ApraxiaKids foundation, which provides support and resources to families and individuals with Apraxia. For Simon, we have been able to order kits for him to share about Apraxia with his peers at school and Cubs.
We would love if any of Simon's family members/friends could join us for the walk this year. This is a fairly short event - registration is at 9:30 and the walk begins at 10:30. There are some low-key activities for kids (yard games, face painting, photo ops), a silent auction, a short walk, a presentation (where all the participants with Apraxia are honoured and given a certificate and medal), and some snacks/treats. Everything was finished up by around noon last year. We have a wedding later that day, so we won't be sticking around much after that, but is is a lovely park, and there is also a great playground, a carousel, and mini train if you feel like making a longer day of it!
If you're not able to join us, no problem! Please consider donating either on our team page or Simon's personal page!
Thanks for your support!
Simon, Denis, and Stacey
