Why I walk for Apraxia Kids!
I walk in honor of my 8.5 year old, Margot, who was officially diagnosed with apraxia of speech - at age 3. She spends countless hours every week at school and after school in various therapies while her peers are in fun extracurricular activities. She spends months (sometimes years) learning 1 word, sound or phrase.
I walk to raise funds for the mission of Apraxia Kids – to strengthen the support systems in the lives of children with apraxia of speech by educating professionals and families; facilitating community engagement and outreach; and investing in the future through advocacy and research.
Please help me meet my fundraising goal by making a donation now, starting a team or by joining our team. You, too, can make an impact for children and families affected by apraxia!
I will be Margot's voice, until she finds hers.
And to my friends and family who show up for us in so many ways every day, thank you.
