Welcome to my personal fundraising page for the Walk for Apraxia - Atlanta.
I walk for Apraxia Kids to show my support for children in my community with Childhood Apraxia of Speech, our shining stars. I walk to show these stars they are not alone.
I especially walk for my 7-year-old daughter, Reese, who was diagnosed with Childhood Apraxia of Speech in June 2015. We had never heard of Apraxia before her diagnosis. She is eager and wants immediate results, but she is also strong and determined to find her words! It is frustrating for all of us at times, but we know we will make it through this process for her. Since our last walk in 2017, she has made great progress, and we can communicate so much better. Because she now understands that this process is making a difference, she has worked even harder to find her words. She is getting it and, while some days are really tough and Apraxia won't ever be gone, she is rising up! It is so exciting to see how far she has come. We are so extremely proud of our girl!
Every dollar raised helps support Apraxia Kids. I believe in the work Apraxia Kids does to strengthen the support systems in the lives of children with Apraxia so that each child is afforded their best opportunity to develop to their full potential. I encourage you to visit www.Apraxia-Kids.org and learn more about what CAS is and what Apraxia-Kids does to help these great kids and thier families.
If you are able, would you please consider making a donation? Your donation goes to fund amazing programs like iPads for children who need it to communicate, parent and speech therapist workshops, research, and a program to assist families in need with speech therapy costs.
Thank you again for your support in this very important cause.
