Welcome to my personal fundraising page for the Walk for Apraxia.
The walk will be held on September 7 at Pleasant Valley Park in Basking Ridge, NJ.
I Walk for Apraxia to show my support for children in my community with apraxia, our shining stars. I Walk to show these stars they are not alone.
We’re helping children like my son Alex, find their voice! Apraxia is a neurological oral motor disorder where you know what you want to say but cannot make the motions to form the correct sounds and words.
Alex was diagnosed with Apraxia in December 2016. He was nonverbal and could not make most sounds. With the help of extensive therapy and now preschool, he is talking in short sentences. He is still very hard to understand and is missing many sounds but he has made tremendous progress. He would not have made it this far without the help of Apraxia-kids. They helped me find the right type of therapy to get for Alex and also helped with insurance issues.
We need your help! By joining us, you are a partner with Apraxia-Kids in its efforts to provide support to children and families on their journey with apraxia. You can participate even if you are unable to be at the Walk by making a donation to support our efforts.
Check out how our team is progressing towards its goal and keep pushing to help us achieve it. Your donation goes to fund amazing programs like iPads for children who need it to communicate, parent and speech therapist workshops, research, and a program to assist families in need with speech therapy costs.
Thank you again for your support in this very important cause.
