Why we walk for Apraxia Kids!
Two words our son. He is the "why" for his father and I. If you're walking, speading awareness or showing your support after hearing of our Noah. He has become your "why" as well. I'm sure many of you along with myself had no knowledge of what Apraxia was. Who knew that its a disconnect from the brain that prevented speech and possibly delayed motor skills along with giving you lower then usual muscle tone. It mimics characteristics of a stroke victim. If you did not know this and now you do. I did just some of my job by spreading knowledge and awareness.
If you are reading this, you may be thinking of joining the team or making a donation to Noah's Ninjas. Please do what works for you. Everyone and anyone are welcome to join us to support this cause and Noah.
Noah has been in therapy since he was three and a half months old. He has come so far and continues to strive and never miss a beat. Some children with Apraxia remain nonverbal. However we are blessed to say, two and a half years ago he had a vocabulary with a total amount of 13 words and primarily used sign language. Today he has become his own voice and will talk back with no hesitation. He currently remains in speech and occupational as he still has trouble producing and omitting certain sounds. He may be in speech well into adulthood as many with Apraxia are. However no matter his journey, this perfect beautiful boy of ours will never walk alone.
He is the epitome of perseverance, resilience and in his own right our little superhero.
Come join our team Noah's Ninja's so we can karate chop Apraxia's arse, spread awareness and help funding. Let us continue to be the voice of these children as they find theirs.
Together we can accomplish amazing things..
