Welcome to my personal fundraising page for the Walk for Apraxia.
I Walk for Apraxia to show my support for children in my community with apraxia, our shining stars, but most expecially for my lifelong friend Jaime's son Benjamin who was diagnosed with apraxia over a year ago. I Walk to show these stars, and our bud Ben, they are not alone.
Childhood apraxia of speech (CAS) is a motor speech disorder that makes it difficult for children to speak. Children with the diagnosis of apraxia of speech generally have a good understanding of language and know what they want to say. However, they have difficulty learning or carrying out the complex sequenced movements that are necessary for intelligible speech.
Every dollar raised helps support Apraxia Kids. I believe in the work Apraxia Kids does to strengthen the support systems in the lives of children with apraxia so that each child is afforded their best opportunity to develop to their full potential.
We need your help! Would you please consider making a donation to this great cause? Your donation goes to fund amazing programs like iPads for children who need it to communicate, parent and speech therapist workshops, research, and a program to assist families in need with speech therapy costs. Any amount that you could give would be most appreciated. Let's help these children find their voice!
Thank you again for your support!
