I walk to support my son, Mason, who was recently diagnosed with Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS). Some of you may be wondering what CAS is. CAS is a disorder that causes difficulty learning to speak. CAS can also cause issues related to reading, writing, and other skills needed to succeed in school and life. Mason faces challenges on a daily basis. I want him to realize he is not alone and he will be able to overcome those challenges by working hard and never giving up!
I walk to raise funds for the mission of Apraxia Kids – to strengthen the support systems in the lives of children with apraxia of speech by educating professionals and families; facilitating community engagement and outreach; and investing in the future through advocacy and research.
Please help me meet my fundraising goal by making a donation now or by joining our team. You, too, can make an impact for children and families affected by apraxia!
I believe, “Every child deserves a voice”.
