Why I walk for Apraxia Kids!
I walk to celebrate my Apraxia Star - my beautiful, funny and kind daughter Julia.
I walk to support all children diagnosed with apraxia of speech - our Apraxia Stars. To show these children they are not alone and to acknowledge all the hard work they must do to overcome communication challenges that affect their day-to-day lives. Julia works hard everyday to share her thoughts, stories and feelings with us. Talking doesn't come easy to her but it doesn't stop her!
I walk to raise funds for the mission of Apraxia Kids – to strengthen the support systems in the lives of children with apraxia of speech by educating professionals and families; facilitating community engagement and outreach; and investing in the future through advocacy and research. Apraxia Kids and the Speech Language Pathologists that are in our lives have given us so much knowledge, support and progress! Apraxia Kids has been an invaluable resource of information, instruction and HOPE! The resources and webinars have provided me with information every step of the way. I would not have been able to advocate for my daughters services and therapies the way I have without this incredible resource.
Please help me meet my fundraising goal by making a donation now or by joining our team. You, too, can make an impact for children and families affected by apraxia! “Every child deserves a voice”.
