Welcome to our team fundraising page for the Walk for Apraxia.

The walk will be held on September 7 in Basking Ridge. We are walking to support and build awareness of this neurological oral motor disorder.

Apraxia of speech makes it difficult for children to speak.  Children with apraxia of speech have great difficulty  planning and producing the precise, highly refined and specific series of movements that are necessary for intelligible speech.

Our daughter Mia was officially diagnosed with having Global Apraxia in April 2019.  She has been receiving therapy since she was 18 months old and has made tremendous progress, but she still has a long road ahead.  She works extremely hard daily in school and attends private therapy after school 3 times a week. She can now speak in 2-3 word phrases and is saying new words and  sounds everyday.

By joining us, you are a partner with Apraxia Kids in its efforts to provide support to children and families on their journey with apraxia. You can participate even if you are unable to be at the Walk by making a donation to support our efforts.

Check out how our team is progressing towards its goal and keep pushing to help us achieve it. Your donation goes to fund amazing programs like iPads for children who need it to communicate, parent and speech therapist workshops, research, and a program to assist families in need with speech therapy costs.

Thank you again for your support in this very important cause.
