2019 Atlanta Walk for Apraxia

Leo's Pride

Welcome to our team fundraising page for the Walk for Apraxia.

We’re helping children, like Leo, find their voice! We need your help!  By joining us, you are a partner with Apraxia Kids in its efforts to provide support to children and families on their journey with apraxia. You can participate even if you are unable to be at the Walk by making a donation to support our efforts.

Childhood apraxia of speech (CAS) is a motor speech disorder that makes it difficult for children to speak. Children with the diagnosis of apraxia of speech generally have a good understanding of language and know what they want to say. However, they have difficulty learning or carrying out the complex sequenced movements that are necessary for intelligible speech.

Apraxia Kids has been active in this fight--investing in research, providing technology and financial assistance for treatment of children with apraxia, and being a reliable source of information on all issues apraxia-related. Most importantly, Apraxia Kids provides hope. The gift Apraxia Kids gives the world is the support and guidance for those working hard to find their voice.

Every dollar you donate will help Apraxia Kids support children near and far by giving them the tools to one day overcome apraxia. Your donation goes to fund amazing programs like iPads for children who need it to communicate, parent and speech therapist workshops, research, and a program to assist families in need with speech therapy costs.

Be a participant our team at the Atlanta Walk for Apraxia! The walk will take place at Mason Mill Park at 1pm on September 15th. The t-shirt deadline for the walk is August 11th.

Thank you again for your support in this very important cause.
