2019 Southwest Wisconsin Walk for Apraxia

Blake's Army

Did you know?

Did you know Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS) affects 1-2 out of 1,000 children?  Did you know that CAS has a higher likelihood of concomitant language, reading and/or spelling disorders? Did you know that it is recommended for students with CAS to have frequent and intense therapy sessions 3-5 days a week plus daily home practice? Did you know that there is no cure for CAS? Did you know that CAS can significantly impact intelligible speech and therefore AAC devices, sign language and/or communication boards are recommended?

Our Blake is 1 in a 1,000. Every day he works hard in therapy when he would rather be playing. He is finding his voice with the help of an AAC device.  He is starting to advocate for himself. HE IS an Apraxia Super Star!

By participating in the Walk for Apraxia, we are helping children like Blake find their voice! We need your help!  By joining us, you are a partner with Apraxia Kids in its efforts to provide support to children and families on their journey with apraxia. You can participate even if you are unable to be at the Walk by making a donation to support our efforts.

Thank you for your support in this very important cause.
