Ryan's Heroes

Welcome to our team fundraising page for the Walk for Apraxia!

Thanks for checking out our page and considering registering to walk with us!  Ryan looks forward to this now our 3rd year.  Ryan graduated Kindergarten this year from St. Michael School in Livonia and is excited for 1st Grade.  He continues his speech therapy at Kaufman which is all out of pocket because HAP has specific exclusions in its policy for Apraxia.  Fair right?  So monies raised at the walk help families with speech therapy.   Ryan also has OT to help with his Sensory Processing Disorder at Building Bridges.  (80% of kiddos with Apraxia have multiple diagnosis like Autism, SPD, ADHD, etc.  Since Ryan is a toe walker, he is now referred to Mott's Rehab.  And Ryan goes to Goldfish Swim School each week for swimming which he enjoys except for the "dipping" (going underwater).  Ryan loves the splash parks too.

The walk this year is at Heritage Park in Taylor and I hear they have a splash park there too!

So we are looking forward to a fun afternoon and hope you can join us!

We’re helping children find their voice! We need your help!  By joining us, you are a partner with the Childhood Apraxia of Speech Association in its efforts to provide support to children and families on their journey with apraxia. You can participate even if you are unable to be at the Walk by making a donation to support our efforts.

Check out how our team is progressing towards its goal and keep pushing to help us achieve it. Your donation goes to fund amazing programs like iPads for children who need it to communicate, parent and speech therapist workshops, research, and a program to assist families in need with speech therapy costs.

Thank you again for your support in this very important cause.
