2022 Atlanta Walk for Apraxia

Ansley's Voice

Sweet Ansley was born in 2013, joyously joining our family. We were quick to realize that Ansley was special and sought out professional advice when she was 18 months old. In December of 2015 her private speech therapist diagnosed Ansley with Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS). Since then, Ansley has moved mountains, crushed milestones, and continues to amaze us every day with her perseverance, happy-go-lucky attitude, and spunky spirit. Today, she is a thriving 8 year old, reading and talking and a friend to everyone she meets. Children frequently ask her if she speaks Spanish or question why she "talks like a baby", and even though their words can hurt we know that they have no malicious intent and we continue to educate them on who Ansley is and what Apraxia is. Every year we look forward to participating in our local Walk for Apracia so we can continue to build a supportive community and bring awareness to all about Apraxia. We are so grateful for our loving family and friends who join us every year, near or far, to continue to fundraise and walk!

Do you believe, “Every Child Deserves a Voice?”

We do… and we invite you to join our team at the Walk for Apraxia.  By joining our team, you will walk beside us as we celebrate all the Apraxia Stars and support our efforts to raise funds for Apraxia Kids.  With these funds, Apraxia Kids will continue to strengthen the support systems in the lives of children with apraxia of speech by educating professionals and families; facilitating community engagement and outreach; and investing in the future through advocacy and research.

Unable to walk?  That’s ok!  You can still participate in helping our team meet our fundraising goal by making a donation now.

Together we can accomplish amazing things for our Apraxia Stars.
